in all this time

How often it seems that we say the wrong thing to the wrong person, stop worrying about one thing only to be squashed by another. No matter how hard we try to have everything just right, we just can't do it. Even if we give it all we have, all we are; we don't make perfect lives in this world. We do all we can for it all to work out just so, but... there's always something, something that we've stuffed up, something we wish had been different.

so we're not giving up...even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfailing grace. -- 2 Corinthians 4:16

I just read this: You're not afraid of heights, you're afraid of falling. And it struck me how true it is. Why do I get that funny feeling in my stomach? Because the notion of falling gets me. Freaks me out.

We live in a world where it's common knowledge that people make mistakes, yet to make a mistake is almost an unforgivable venture. They stay with us, our selves whispering, "You did that." Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days...

Spring is here. School holidays have begun, I'm listening to the kind of music that you don't know all the words to, music in fact you didn't know you knew; music that doesn't come with a name attached but is music on the playlist of you, of life, that you just know and it's like home.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

You know what I do? I put my trust, my happiness, my soul, into things in this world. I rely on them. Why?
