Well, I hold my breath, then swallow, and keep doing that til it goes. But somethimes it doesnt work. My sister puts sugar on the back of her tongue though.Hope that go! I had hiccups all day one. It was really annoying.Frangipani Fish
That is a very good question! I will give you the solution in a sec but first:I love your blog! And I wanted to know how do you get that kewl font you have for the post title? It is sooooo awesome! Here is the answer to your question:To get rid of hiccups you need to take a mouthful of water, bend over so your head is upside down, then swallow! It should work the first time but if not keep trying. It is sure to succeed!Annie.
Yeah I do the same thing. but most of the time I just forget about them and they go away without me realizing it.
I do the same thing. But most of the time I forget about them and they end up going away without me realizing it.
Breath through my mouth and try to clear it up.Drink 10-20 swallows of water.Put my hands on my stomach bend over and hold my breath.Sierra
I usually hold my breath for 10 seconds or so then take a drink of water and repeat until it stops. Or you could have somebody scare you or take a spoonful of sugar, swallow it, and then take a drink of water. These ideas may sound ridiculous, but trust me, they work. Hope this helps!~Chelsea<3
What I do, is I look at it like its a mental issue. I hold my breath and close my eyes and think about nothing else but I keep saying to myself "I'm not going to hiccup again" and after like ten seconds "see, they're going away!"May sound stupid but it's worked for me EVERY time! I've been doing it since 5th grade.
A spoon full of peanutbutter. ;) Does the trick for me.
This sounds crazy, but what I do is down ten gulps of water straight, without stopping. Sounds hard, but if you breathe through your nose, it might help. It's guarunteed to work, or you have the right to comment on my blog and scream at me :)
Hey, this is Nicole from 'the blog'. :) That's what all of the girls say when they comment on another's blog.Anyway, just wanted to say that I hold your breath for at least ten seconds WITHOUT hiccuping, and then immediately drink three big gulps of water. It works every time 4 me. :) Hope it helps - I hate hiccups!
Wow, thanks for all the comments! And I LOVE all your crazy ways to get rid of the hiccups! I'm sure none of us will ever need to get rid of the hiccups again!:DAnnie -- the font's called BBCatholicGirls and I love it! You just type it into google, and it should come up.:)
There was one thing I read that said to hold your two index fingers in front of your eyes, close your mouth, and focus on your fingers. I tried it and it worked (99.9% of the time :P).Hope this helps. :)
Thanks for answering me about the font emii! One more question: How do you get it on you post title. I can't get it to work!! Arrrrr!
I have the hiccups now. I'm going to try everyone of these solutions. But before I tried Annie's suggestion and it worked, but it's not now.
Annie -- yes, It takes quite a few minutes. But of course, it's impossible to do without the tutorial from Kevin and Amanda!:)Haha, Frangipani the Fish! I got the hiccups twice yesterday, and since I was at school I just held my breath both times and concentrated on something else, and it worked... or it could've been the spider I saw at my feet under my desk. The scaring one definitely works, too, Chelsea!Mahina -- ooh, is that like, a physological one? One of my friends was talking about how someone they know puts on a beanie and looks in the mirror, and they go! Definitely physological! Very cool.
Is there any other way cos I prob won't be allowed to make an account with the web page maker thingy.......
comments are fun.
